How Winter's Awakening: Ravena's Prophecy began

Hello, new readers!

When I think back to when I started writing Ravena, it’s crazy to think it lived so long in my head before the draft was written. I had fallen in love with Greek and Norse mythology when the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla games came out, I swear I played them locked in for the whole day.
When I saw Hades as part of the DLC, I fell in love (ha-ha). So, I started imagining my own FMC, one who was a fated mate to a god, and the story I wanted to tell (because I didn’t like it when someone didn’t end up with who I wanted >o<).
I also wanted to make a relatable character, not one that was immediately overpowered. I wanted her to be nervous, anxious, and full of self-doubt.

Fun Facts:
-The first scene I ever wrote was actually the end of the book.
-Ravena's name was actually Thyra in the beginning but Ravena was a nod to the Raven, and it felt right. And a place named Thyraheim was born.
-From the first draft to the end, the guardian's overall feelings changed from just a guardian to falling for her. Maybe I'm evil lol for reasons.

So yeah, it began with an obsession with Greek and Norse mythology, the gods behind it all, and video games.

May the Gods be in your favor,

J. Victery
